Wash it and soak it. Stick it in the freezer until it freezes. My puppy loves it. He is a hound so he's got an awesome sense of smell. I help him stimulate his little doggy brains by hiding treats and he has to smell for it. Bed: we just gave him a comforter and folded it up. We put it in his crate. He loves it.
