If you really love your dog, she would be sleeping in the house, on carpeting. Not someplace where she could possibly get cold enough to NEED a pillow.

Okay be calm and dont spank the doggy. You should buy one of the hard ones. They are stapled with very comfy and smooth fabrics. They are doggy proof. They are very good and they work well.

Some dogs are just like that. My oldest Min Pin does that to every bed we get her. All I have done is gotten her a warm blanket and she is quite content to curl up into it. So I would try just getting her a nice blanket and see if she likes that.

The real question here is WHY is she ripping up her bedding? Is she frustrated? Bored? Hurt? Lonely.

Try to figure out WHY this is happening and make a change.

Maybe change her food - we use Artemis and it changed a number of behavioral and health issues in my dogs.

When I first got my puppies, I got them the cute doggie beds (at $25 each). After they destroyed those, I bought a couple yards of fleece to nest in ($2 at a thrift store). It's been several months, and they haven't even tried ripping it up. I guess it's not as fun without the clouds of cotton batting floating through the air.
I also stopped giving my dogs stuffed animals, beanie babies, or anything else that's easily pulled apart. I realized that they just can't resist the temptation to "kill" things. I guess I forgot the fact that they are carnivores. Even if their favorite food is cheese puffs.

Buy blankets instead of pillows. THEN, consider why she is tearing stuff up. Is she bored? Buy her cheap toys she can destroy (no buttons or things that can hurt her if she swallows them) and she might eat her toys instead of her bed. Chewing is very often a sign of boredom. Also, if it is so cold, why not let her sleep inside? Stick her in the kitchen and put a gat eup if you are worried about her running amok.

I bought an inflatable pet bed, and so far it's been great. It's basically an airbed (puncture resistent) with removable slip cover. It does not absorb dog odor like blanket or pillow. The slip cover is very easy to wash because it's not big and bulky.

I bought mine at K-mart at about $26. My dog of 14 years seems to like it and it contours to her body well.
