Fur is a great thermal insulator, finely developed over eons of use by mother nature herself: You're probably roasting the poor pooch unless it's 20 below out. :) For appearances and showing off it's always cute, I doubt anybody other than me considers how the critters might feel, but I'd imagine from the dog's perspective it's just itchy as hell and feels tight and uncomfortable. If it makes you happy though and the dog doesn't seem to mind (sometimes the added cutesy attention is worth the discomfort), all is well. Only if the dog has fur.
