I think it's fine, I don't dress up my dogs cause they'd hate it but some dogs look cute all dressed up, I don't like humanizing my pets cause I know they're not humans, a dog is dog not a small furry human

Personally outside of doggy sweaters in the snow, I think that dressing a dog up is kind of pointless. Dogs were meant to be in their own fur, not running around in hoodies and tutus.

I have a boston terrier, and he hates when I just put his sweater on when it is cold, most dogs hate anything on them, but I do know people will dress their dogs at Halloween.

Well, I guess it is really up to the individual and their dog. I have two dogs..a toy poddle and a staffie/shar pei mix. The staffie mix doesn't get any sort of clothes, as she likes to chew so much she would just chew them off. The toy poddle has sweaters. I keep her clipped and it is winter, so the sweaters ARE for a purpose, I DO think she looks cute in them and she doesn't mind them at all.
While I have seen some dog outfits that look very outrageous and I would never buy, I guess if it toots a person't horn, why not? IF the dog is ok with it, and the owner likes it too, then it's up to "them".
If you get a dog with very short hair, and they are outside for any length of time, you MAY find yourself buying it a sweater in the winter. Even if you think it a little odd, when your dog comes in from pottying and seems very cold, the sweater idea will probably look better. :-)

I would not dress a dog up. Dogs I see dressed up seem to want to try and get the clothes off.

I would not say it is wrong, but in most cases it is for human amusement and not animal comfort. Of course, there are exceptions to that, such as a hairless dog hanging out in the snow might very much appreciate a sweater. I had a fox terrier/jack mix, and he actually liked wearing sweaters. He would get upset if you took them off of him. It really helped him stay warm, and he was up for anything that did that, including being tucked under a blanket (like you would tuck in a little kid) to sleep.
