Good luck! My two dogs and three cats have full run of my room. Ellen Degeneres was talking about this today on her show. Once you welcome your pets they always feel welcome. If it is of any comfort, you'll get used to repositioning your legs and moving around so you don't disturb your pet.

If you have the space in your room you could get your dog a big cozy bed and retrain him to sleep on that bed..Because he is used to sleeping in your room I would continue to let him do so he just needs his own bed.

Teach her "off"...

When you don't want her on something, physically push her off of it....as in your bed and say "off"...eventually she will learn what it means. It is your bed. Not hers. Sure it might seem a little mean, but it's better for both of you in the long run. Good luck

Why do you have to leave the door open?

Mabye gate her off in another room or area with a baby gate. She'll get used to it. My dog was the same but we stopped it after a while. He can't even jump as high as our bed so he doesn't bother trying anymore.

I used to let my dog sleep on the bed, too, until I ran into some behavioral issues caused by my own mixed signals to the dog...

Long story short:

I used a tether to keep my dog confined at night; tether I used was a four foot lead, tied him up in my bedroom at night, to prevent him from jumping on the bed. He learned quickly that he was supposed to sleep on his bed on the floor.

Investing in a king size bed may be the best solution.
After all, it's all your fault :)

I used to sleep with my dog until I met my husband who was not having her in the bed! Everytime she trid to get up I would tell her to get down . The key is to be consistent and tell her everytime NO and GET DOWN. Make sure she has a really comfy bed of her own that she enjoys sleeping in and put it in your room so she is with you but has her own bed.Reward her for sleeping in her own bed with treats and she will soon get used to it.
