Why are people so against dogs wearing clothes?

My dog get's cold easily so in the winter she wears jackets and pajamas and shirts and stuff when we walk. I'm always accused of being superficial and crap. I'm just trying to keep my dog warm. Is that wrong. Even so what's the big deal? My dog doesn't mind wearing clothes so why should anyone else? Does it harm them in anyway?
Also my dog is a short haired chihuahua who is used to warmer climates.
We wears sweaters and jackets when we walk Pj's to bed.
